About the exhibition
Curatorial Statement: The Anthropocene can be described as a geological epoch characterized by the substantial impact the human species has had on Earth. While it has not been officially recognized as an epoch, it is a term that has become popularized when speaking about our effects on the environment and the inevitable doomsday we’ve created for ourselves.
This exhibition opposes the idea that humans are the be-all and end-all of life on Earth and instead offers an alternative; we are just a brief moment in the history of life on Earth. The artists featured in the human event invite the viewer to examine our current relationships with land, nature and life cycles, imagine the future of our existence and question our significance on this planet.
