Recently, I worked on a series of underwear made with unusual objects. With no access to Concordia studios, the creation of my underwear was a way to be creative from home. The objects around me inspired me. The majority of my designs are handmade, and some of them are completely created in Photoshop. Some of my work refers to popular culture, as shown in Sponge Thong, MC String and Assmazon. For me, this project is a way of re-appropriating my body positively and creatively. The female body is often sexualized and objectivity. It affected me more than I realized. I often tend to sexualize my body. Part of me is acknowledging and appreciate this reality; another part of me hates it. I try to play and develop with this idea of the female body through my artwork.
